Getting sound

Connect a compatible audio interface and plug your guitar into its instrument input. Start with a low monitor or headphone level. Open The Keystone and allow microphone access, which also enables audio input from an interface. Select the interface channel carrying your guitar.

Check both the IN and OUT names below the controls. If OUT is not your intended destination, tap Choose Output and select an output offered by iOS. Inside GarageBand, Logic Pro for iPad or another AUv3 host, use the host’s audio settings.

Meters move, but there is no sound

Meters show processing—not proof that the speakers are receiving it. Check the actual output destination, interface monitor/headphone controls and speaker connections. Check system media volume if it is adjustable for that route. Do not raise every gain control to compensate for the wrong output destination.

I hear dry guitar, not the effects

Check the interface’s direct-monitor setting. Direct monitoring can play your guitar without passing through The Keystone. Use one intended monitoring path to avoid doubled or hollow sound.

There is no input

Check microphone permission in device Settings and choose the socket your guitar is plugged into. Make sure the interface has enough power; some require external power or a powered hub. Close phone-display sharing or developer display capture while troubleshooting microphone input. Return to the app after reconnecting the interface.

Levels

Set interface input gain so your hardest playing does not clip. Software input gain cannot repair clipping at the interface. The output control reaches unity gain at its maximum and remains steady across factory preset changes. Extreme input or effect settings can still clip. Start monitoring quietly, especially with a microphone near speakers.

Standalone and AUv3

The Keystone includes a standalone processor and an AUv3 effect for compatible hosts. The host manages recording and its own input/output routing. The standalone app does not include a recorder.
